The premium filters that are made by Airaid are all built by hand.  They also come to you complete with a guarantee that is good for a lifetime.  The SynthaMax filter is composed of two layers.  There is both an outer and an inner layer of wire mesh.  This acts as a durable source of support for the filtration as it assists in preventing the filter from collapsing even when it is under a high flow of air.  The layer on the inside is made up of two layers itself.  These layers are made of synthetic materials and they give you an air flow that is amazing with very low restriction as well as a filtration that is difficult to beat.  The particulates from the air get trapped in the outside layer of the synthetic, polyester needle felt material that has been designed to both dry and wet filtration and has a capacity for a high air flow.  The inner layer is made from a rayon, polyester blend that has been chemical bonded and wet laid.  It captures any particulates that might remain while it also gives you a high level of air flow and a restriction that is low.  This filter has been totally made from fibers that are synthetic.  It is washable and it is a non-oiled type which means that the process of cleaning it is easier.  However, the true benefits of this filter is in the way it is designed and the warranty that is good for a lifetime.
