You will be able to correct any handling or alignment
issues on your lifted rig with this adjustable front track bar made by Rubicon
Express. This track bar is constructed
from chromoly and installs with ease on rigs that have been given 3 and a half
to 4 and a half inches of lift. This
track bar allows your wheels more room to travel than your stock track bar does
and it even features a rod end that is replaceable for future maintenance.
How
easy is it to install?
This track bar is incredibly easy to install. All that you will need is the track bar as
well as the nut-bolt-spacer assembly that came with it. You will also need a pickle fork, drill with
5/8 inch bit and basic hand tools.
Here is how you do it:
1. Start
the installation process by putting your rig on a surface that is level and
flat and make sure that your parking brake is engaged
2. Take
the existing track bar assembly out of your rig
3. Using
the drill and drill bit, enlarge the upper track bar mounting hole located at
the frame or unibody of the rig
4. Attach
this new track bar to the lower mounting bracket by using the hardware from the
factory track bar. This end of the track
bar will be the poly-bushing end. Place
the bar so that it begins by being horizontal or parallel with your axle. It should then slope upward towards the frame
racket before leveling out to a horizontal position again
5. Now
you need to tighten the lower mounting bolt until it is 5 ft/lbs
6. Before
you connect the upper mount you must make sure that the rig is centered over the
axle. Do this by measuring from the
fender flare on the front to the driver side and then the passenger side. Do this until the body is perfectly centered
on top of the axle.
7. Now
you will need to adjust the heim joint until it fits directly into the upper
part of the mount while the body is centered
8. Next
you will need to make sure that the jam nut is tight enough to keep the heim
joint immobile
9. Using
the hardware that came with the track bar, you will now attach your heim joint
at the factory mounting point. The
assembly should be in the following order from bottom to top:
Bolt
then misalignment spacer then heim joint then misalignment spacer then factory
mounting point with the nut on top of all of this.
The spacers have a smaller
end and this end should be facing your heim joint. Now just tighten your upper lock nut and
mounting bolt to 115 ft/lbs and you are done!
